Bindie ("we," "us," or "our") operates bindie.ai. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We keep it simple because we're a small app and we don't do anything sneaky.
Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and the display name or handle you choose. We do not collect your real name unless you provide it voluntarily.
Content you create. This includes pairings (books and wines you log), posts, notes, photos, and wishlist items you save. This content is associated with your account.
Usage activity. We store records of pairings you generate, books you search, and wines you save so we can show them back to you in your Cellar.
We do not collect payment information (Bindie is free). We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not run advertising. We do not track you across other websites.
We use your email to create and secure your account, and to send transactional messages like password reset emails. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
We use the content you create to provide the service — showing you your pairings, populating your Cellar, and (if you choose) sharing posts to the community Feed.
Supabase — we use Supabase for authentication and database storage. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
Google Books API — when you search for a book, we query the Google Books API to fetch title, author, and cover art. We do not send any personal information to Google in these requests.
Cloudflare — our site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare processes request data as part of serving the site. See cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and content will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request deletion of your account at any time by emailing hello@bindie.ai. If you're in the EU or California, you have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA respectively — the same email address applies.
Bindie is a wine-focused service intended for users who are 21 years of age or older. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 in any context. If you believe an underage user has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Bindie after changes means you accept the updated policy.
