Juicy, earthy and a little wild, with sour cherry, black plum and a rustic, grippy finish. Barbera's bright acidity meets the darker depth of Bonarda in this unfiltered country red from the Trebbia Valley hills near Piacenza, fermented with native yeasts and very little intervention. A wine for readers who like their stories honest and unvarnished. Best with a slight chill and a long, loose evening.
