Roxanich 'Antica' Malvazija

Mladen Rožanić leaves this Malvazija on its skins for the better part of a year, and it shows: deep amber-gold, dried orange peel, walnut skin, a slow tannic grip that lingers. It's a wine that asks for patience and repays it, the way certain lives only make sense looked at whole, from a distance. Good for a book that moves slowly across decades and somehow still catches you off guard.
